This week’s Fitness Finds are a few gadgets that you can use to record your fitness. It seems lately, there’s been a boom of gadgets out there from the ‘regular’ polar/garmin/magellan HR monitors and activity trackers like the Fitbit and other step counters and more!
1. Samsung Smart Galaxy Gear Fit $249 (Harvey Norman) 2. Garminvivofit $159 (Harvey Norman) 3. Nike Fuel Band SE $199 (via Kogan) 4. Argus Pedometer/Nutrition App FREE Apple itunes 5. Withings Pulse O2 (Expansys) $139
The new Samsung Smart Galaxy Gear Fit has impressed me on the TV with it being dustproof and waterproof! It also send emails, texts and alerts to the band (which personally I think is a bit counter-intuitive, shouldn’t you be focusing on your workout?) It’s a HR monitor, step tracker and coach all in one!
The one I wished I had’ve known about before I got my fitbit (as a gift), was the Garmin Vivofit – it even syncs to your current Garmin device too. It tracks steps, calories, sleep and HR (either comes with a HR stap or not – and you can use an existing strap if you have one) . It’s also waterproof! Review here.
If you want something for free – check out the Argus App! It runs directly off your iphone (watch your battery), and as long as you have it with you all the time it’ll track your steps, calories and you can log workouts, water intake and food too!
