2019 Goal setting: What goals are you striving for? Have you set your intentions for the year? What are your health, fitness or wellness goals?
There are so many blog posts out there rounding up ways to set goals, how to plan your year, advertisements spruiking the latest detox, quick fix or fad diet (being the New Year and all) – I’m not going to go there. Instead, I’m going to give you an insight into my personal goals for 2019, and share them here with you in a way to be accountable and more actionable.
So – for those loyal followers and readers of North of Here will have noticed that 2018 was… lacking in regular posts. Well you’re totally right – and it was mainly because I had started my business and my focus pretty much needed to be on that – building my business, figuring out my service offering, pricing and networking, building a client base and then refining my service offering.
But, as 2018 ended, and I settled on the fact that my business would remain a part-time venture (and there’s only so much I can grow it) – I thought that 2019 would be the year to get back into a proper fitness routine, starting going on consistent running again as well as eat a lot better! …. and what better way than to chronicle my journey here on North of Here?
As you can see in my pic below, I’m keen to get back into running. I’m planning on entering a bunch of running events in the first half of the year to make me stick to my goals and run more consistently and faster!
My fitness plan this year will include boxing fitness classes a couple of times a week, running 2-3 times a week and 1-2 gym sessions to round it out and rebuild some strength and definition.
What does ‘well-being’ mean for me? It means quality sleep, less working at night + weekends, less phone time (except for work purposes), more date nights, more [quality] time with friends.
So that’s what my 2019 will include. It means journalling at night (a simple recap of the day), listening to podcasts and reading more books.
It’ll also mean spending more time blogging here – and spending focused days on my business – more planning.
My #1 goal is to read 4 books (which is a HUGE effort for me!)
Last year I was in-consistent with my eating. I’ve had some inconsistent blood work – so getting to the bottom of that too.
So 2019 will mean less chocolate, sweets and treats. Sticking to the 80/20 rule. No fad diets. Just eating intuitively, loving fruit and vegetables and enjoying good food (and good wine in moderation)!
